the cicada and the ant
For a whole summer, a cicada was singing and playing without worrying about anything. One day, he saw an ant passing by with a huge grain of wheat to store it in his anthill.
The cicada, not content with singing and playing, decided to make fun of the ant and said to him:
-How boring you are, stop working and devote yourself to enjoyment.
The ant, who always saw the cicada resting, replied:
-I am saving provisions for when winter comes, I advise you to do the same.
-Well, I'm not going to worry about anything," said the cicada, "for now I have everything I need.
And he went on singing and playing.
Winter soon came and the cicada could not find any food anywhere. In desperation, he went to knock on the ant's door and asked for something to eat:
-What did you do in the summer while I was working? -asked the ant.
-I was singing and playing," answered the ant.
-Well, if you were singing and playing in the summer," said the ant, "go on singing and playing in the winter.
Having said this, he closed the door.
The cicada learned not to make fun of others and to work with discipline.
Moral: To enjoy yourself, you have to work first.
